Last week, Ben & I visited my brother Tanner in Connecticut. The girls stayed with Ed & Sue, Ben's parents. We enjoyed seeing where Tanner lived and worked. And the girls made a lot of memories with Papa Eddie and Nana Sue and their cousins.
So...there are days I long for a vacation...but then once I finally get one...I miss my babies...a lot. It helps knowing they are in good hands and having fun.
Most of the time, people think these guys are the siblings. And it was no different in Connecticut!
Tanner showed us where he studies and teaches. He loves what he does, which makes the distance seem easier...at least for me!
I loved getting updates from Iowa.
Aunt Emily always does a good job providing fun activities for the cousins.
She scheduled horseback riding for the littles.
And a sleepover.
And painting.
Meanwhile, I was loving the history of Boston. It was awesome! We walked the Freedom Trail...here is Paul Revere's burial spot.
And Samuel Adams...
And the victims of the Boston Massacre
Behind Ben is where the Boston Massacre took place.
So...when we go on vacations...Ben likes to tour dams, ships, etc., also museums of things like automobiles and airplanes...etc. Me, not so much. But I endured the U.S.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides) with him. I must love him. :)
Bunker Hill Monument
The inspiration for the show Cheers.
We did a lot of walking...and found a bench to rest on. It had a nice view.
The next day, Ben humored me and we went to Plymouth, Mass.
Not exactly what I was expecting Plymouth Rock to look like...but cool.
Sweet Corn Parade
The burial site of William Bradford in Plymouth
A picnic with Louise
Whale watching. There were SO many whales. It was awesome!
The sunshine and ocean put Ben right to sleep. I envy his special talent. :)
We also went to a beach in Rhode Island. I have been to beaches in San Diego, Hawaii, Texas, and Florida and this one was my favorite. Clean, cool, and not crowded.
He is a great partner to travel with (and let's be honest, I'd get lost if he wasn't with me :)
The girls' last excursion was a bike ride on the bike trail.
So glad you guys had a great trip! Fun to see your pics.
