Two mornings last week, Clara woke up with swollen lips, a swollen eye, and hives. No clue why. We kept her home the first morning, which was a bummer for her. She did not want to miss school! Ellsy helped ease her anxiety about missing school by giving her some pampering while she was at home for the morning.

Sidenote: Mom also had her nails done. There was no getting out of it.
Ellsy celebrated her half birthday at school on December 10th. She chose pink cupcakes with pink frosting and pink sprinkles. Clara got in on the taste testing since she was home.

The girls wrote letters to Santa and he mailed them a letter back. Their letters got published in the local newspaper. Here is what they wrote:
Dear Santa,
I hope you have a Merry Christmas. I would like every color hair clips of the rainbow, candy, and nail polish. Also, my own box of gum. I love you. Love, Clara
Dear Santa,
I hope you have a great time gathering the reindeer up. I would like hair clips and a car to drive in the house. Please make everything glittery. I like bubble gum tape. See you soon, Ellsy Lucille Swinger
From Mom:
Dear Santa,
Do not make everything glittery. Thank you.
